ECS track and field athletes seem to thrive in adverse weather, and this was proven once again during a dominating performance put in at the SHSAA Track and Field Provincials over the weekend. In fact, it the best appearance at that level that the Estevan has ever seen, and all that was in spite of less than ideal conditions, including cold, wind and rain.

"(I'm) very proud. We started off with 56 track athletes, and took 26 to provincials which is most we've taken in my memory. This is the most medals we've ever won," expressed Coach Kelly Phillipchuk.

A highlight list of the stand out results is below, with a full list to come.

Chelsea McLenehan placed 5th in the 400m, while Hunter Wallster took silver in the shot put and gold in discus. Nicole Kistanoff went bronze in triple jump, Sarah Dacuycuy finishing in fourth right after her. Erik Gusikowski was fourth in senior boys discus.

Tatiana Dutka took silver in the senior girl's quadathlon, while senior Morgan Fichter took bronze in the 100m, gold in the triple jump for the second year in a row, and her relay team took bronze.
