Estevan's ECS track and field team invaded Weyburn over the weekend and made their presence felt.

There were quite a few first, second and third place finishes as well as some personal bests, highlight performances and meet records.

"We actually took a very large number of people who were just competing for the very first time. There were some upsets, and there were also some victories, and that's bound to happen at any competition. I think it gave everyone a good chance to see what a competition is like," said Head Coach Caitlyn Giesbrecht.

"We also had some challenges that had to be overcome, and it's great that we had the opportunity to do it before our Regionals. This last weekend gave a lot of people the chance to see what it's like to compete beyond our own team and learn some tips and tricks, really how to get in the right mindset for a track meet."

The kids have a busy Wednesday approaching, as May 16th will see the ECS host track and field Regionals.
