Growing pains continued on Saturday afternoon for the ECS Elecs football team as the Peacock Tornadoes ended the Elecs season in a 49-6 loss during the Moose Jaw High School Football League quarterfinal.

The Tornadoes would jump out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and would add another touchdown giving them a 21-0 lead at the half.

"We started out moving the ball pretty well but we just weren't able to put up the points in the first half but our defense did made some big plays," said Elecs Head Coach Mark Schott. "The score at half time which was a deficit, but by no means was the game out of reach. In the second half, Peacock came out and scored a couple quick touchdowns. Hunter Eagles had a big 50-yard run for a touchdown, but unfortunately that was all we could manage."

Finishing the season without a win can be a bit discouraging for any team, however, Schott looks at the end of the season with positivity in mind.

"The score and the outcome was disappointing, but I think we have to look at our young team and the vast majority of them are returning, hopefully we can use this year as a building block for success next year."

"Now everyone has at least one full year of high school football under their belts. There was definitely a learning curve for a number of our first year players, regardless there is a lot of excitement about our group that is coming back. It just seems like yesterday we were getting things started in August, it's a short fast season. We're hoping next year we can prolong our season a few more weeks."
