The ECS Elecs Senior Boys Volleyball team has been picking up steam as the season goes on and this past weekend in Moose Jaw, the boys were able to make some noise in the 16 team tournament. Although the boys did fall to a talented Swift Current team in the semifinals, it was still a solid effort.

After three straight wins in pool A, teams were re-seeded into another three game pool.

Split sets with Rolleau Rebels 20-25, 25-22

Split sets with Oxbow 19-25, 25-11

The Elecs were in a three way tie following the round robin and would place 2nd via points for/against. The Elecs would fall to Swift Current in straight sets of the semifinal, 15-25 and 17-25

"It was kind of a roller coaster weekend," explained Coach Kevin Perkins. "We had some really good play and some awful play at times. I think the boys learnt a lot and we came together when we needed to. Swift Current is really tough, they have to be one of the top teams in the province. We knew we were going to be in tough during the semi's and we did alright."

The boys are now set to host their home tournament at the comp starting Friday, October 27th.

"I think it's going to be a good tournament, Oxbow and Weyburn are in our pool who are both tough to play. Four teams will be looking for three positions in provincials so it will be a great weekend ahead," Perkins concluded.
