Estevan played host to a Minor Box Lacrosse Tournament over the weekend.

"We had a round robin of four teams," explained Trevor McNabb, coach of the peewee Voltz. "We were hoping for a bit more numbers but some of the other teams I guess, couldn't make it down. We have some real good competition this year."

"In our division, the peewee division, we won two games and lost two games. During the round robin, we were 1-2. We met a Moose jaw team that is pretty much the top of the league right now and then we met a Regina team that we have beaten in the past but they came out with full force and they came out strong against us but we had a really good game against them."

"Then we went into the finals and played Weyburn in the finals and the boys came really strong and had some good quality shots and we were up Weyburn but then they bounced back with some aggressive hits. It was actually a really fun game to watch for both fans as well as coaches and players."

The Voltz came away with the bronze medal for the tournament.

This weekend they will be in Regina for two games on Saturday and then back home on Sunday against Moose Jaw.
