The green flag dropped on a new season of racing at the Estevan Motor Speedway on Saturday night.

A warm, sunny and windy evening set the scene for a great opening night of races in front of a good crowd in southeastern Saskatchewan.

It was the young Keenan Glasser coming away with the victory in the slingshots feature.

"It's pretty awesome, I havent raced here since 2012 so it's nice to come back and come out with a win."

Next saw the IMCA stock car feature with Estevan's Gregg Mann making a nice move on the final lap to come away with the victory.

"We did a lot of work on the car over the winter. It was the first race of the year for us and everything worked out the way we wanted."

"It held together pretty good," Mann said of the track, "There was no holes or rough spots. For the first race of the year, that's a success."

The final race of the night saw a late push from Williston North Dakota's Travis Hagen, who would hold on for the victory in the IMCA modified feature.

"You put a lot of time into the car during the winter, and its good to get rewarded."

"The track was good, I dont know how it could get any better than that," Hagen added.

Saturday May 20th at the Estevan Motor Speedway will see IMCA points night.
