Local trapshooters hit their mark on a provincial level over the weekend, as Estevan's club attended the 2018 Amateur Trapshooting Provincial Championships in Swift Current over the weekend.

Logan King mastered 6 different events to return as the Junior champ for the sixth time in a row. Sam Meek, in his first year competing, was the Doubles champ for sub-junior. Chase McNabb took the honors as singles champ and high all round score for his event, while Jason Caldwell brought home some hardware as well.

"There was only three juniors, but my goals are kind of towards the whole field," said Logan, "I won high all around junior, placed third in the province and got bumped up to AA in my class."

Looking ahead at the future, he added that he hopes to make the next trip to the Canadian championships in Ontario.

"I think I did just fine. I've never won singles or handicap, but I did win in a shoot-off for doubles. Again, there was only three in my division but there was 60-70 people there," added 14 year old Sam Meek.

Meanwhile, McNabb expressed that he'd like to up his game for the next season.

"I just hope to improve. It's a sport that you learn a lot, but there's also stuff you can improve a lot over time, and it just takes that time to improve little things."

They expressed that the club is always seeking new members. In addition, they announced that Estevan will be the host site of the provincial competition in 2020.
