The Midale Curling Club held there 18th annual Farmers and Friends Bonspiel Recently and with 22 teams in attendance from all over the southeast, the 7-day event was full of action. We talked with Melissa Rasmuson a board member with the Farmers and Friends Bonspiel and Midale Curling Club to get some of the details of the event.

"This year we had 22 teams and it was a very well run event, we started on February 27th and it ran all the way to March 3rd. This was our 18th annual farmer's bonspiel. It ran very smoothly this year we all have our little jobs and it was great, everyone participated and all our volunteers were fantastic to work with and it went so smooth this year it was incredible."

The fun didn't stop on the rink though, on Saturday they had a live band and cabaret and it sounds like the club put out quite a spread for the curlers.

"On Friday we had a wing night that had four different types of wings and on Saturday we had a catering club in Midale cater a roast beef supper.

There were teams in attendance from all over the southeast and one Estevan team even managed to place. Ron Ritteler from Estevan became the C event winners.

While the event does raise some money for the club itself they also like to hold a raffle of a wheel barrel full of goodies and the funds raised from that go to TeleMiracle.
