In what they believe was their best performance yet, the Estevan Golden Eels went to Weyburn on Saturday for their second last meet of the regular season.

They returned home with 15 medals...3 bronze, 6 silver and 6 gold. They also achieved the overall club high point award with 732, 350 points ahead of the second place finisher, and personal bests were seen all round the bunch.

Then on Sunday, a smaller contingent of swimmers traveled to Assiniboia where they once again captured some high points. They brought home a total of 12 medals...3 bronze, 3 silver and 36 gold.

"We had almost everybody in our club travel up there (Weyburn), we were the largest club at the meet, which did help us in gaining the high points award," said Melanie Dzeryck, "But, we were almost three times ahead of the second place, so our club did fantastic."

This wraps up the regular season for the Eels, who now head up to Gravelbourg over July 21-22 for semi-finals, to qualify for the provincial competition to be held in Estevan at the end of the month.
