The Special Olympics held a fundraising Barbecue and Baseball game on Sunday to raise funds for equipment.

"I went and talked to the law enforcement to see if they would help us out with Special Olympics and they said they would and I said what about a baseball game and they agreed. We're going to have half of our Special Olympics on one team and the other half on the other team with law enforcement on both sides," explained Don Cameron the Coach/Volunteer with the Special Olympics.

"The money we are raising is going back into Special Olympics to buy equipment and stuff for them. A year ago we bought a rolling ramp for bowling, we have a young lady who's in a wheelchair so this money goes into equipment and buys hats a shirts for going out so people know which team we're on."

"We're going to have fun playing ball, we're all there to have fun and raise money. I'm mixing them up a bit so they get to know the law enforcement a little bit, it doesn't hurt to have them know the law enforcement is here to help them too," stated Don.

Overall the team members were excited to compete.

"I feel good. I love sports and I used to play football, basketball, everything. If we loose by twenty points I don't care as long as we have fun, that's all we really need to do," shared Corey Perkowitsch a athlete in the Special Olympics.
