Saturday evening entertained fans with an intense night of racing at the Estevan Motor Speedway, as the 'Tougher Than Dirt' Tour made it's stop in the Energy City.

In the IMCA Modifieds it was Estevan's Aaron Turnbull who came away with the checkered flag. Kody Scholpp got the pole position to start, however he was pulled due to a malfunctioning transponder. This removed one threat for Turnbull, but moved another in the form of Travis Hagen into an even more volatile spot, though Turnbull was able to stave off defeat.

"I knew I kind of had to be on the bottom, so I got down there as quick as I could. Kind of made some changes to my car so it would run down there a little better, because I've been struggling with that over the last couple of weeks, and it was definitely better. Stayed on the bottom and got under those guys and got in the lead, and figured once I got up there that they'd have a hard time getting around me."

Aaron Turnbull won the IMCA Modifieds.

Meanwhile the Sport Mods hit the track for their portion of the 'Tougher Than Dirt' Tour with Rocky Caudle of Elsworth, Iowa taking the win in a last lap, down to the wire finish.

"We got that caution there, and I thought these guys were racing pretty hard, three wide up here, I'm just going to be patient. They went in and it looked like the one car got a little tight, I had the right angle on the corner, I cut across the racetrack and the rest is history. Just the right place at the right time."

"I was just cheering, I probably beat the roof off my car when we came across and I'd seen the checkers," he added.

Rocky Caudle narrowly took first in the TTD Sport Mods.

Brock Beeter, hailing from Minot took the main feature for the Hobby Stocks, who were also participating in the tour.

"The biggest thing was, finally I got to play that beanbag toss and I got on the outside, I've struggled all week," he joked of the pre feature tour routine, "But I knew that if I could get through lap traffic faster than Leevi (Runge), I was good.

After a couple of lucky cautions, Beeter added that his tactic of staying out front and smooth, noone would get past him unless mistakes were made. In addition, points leader Adam Goff rolled his vehicle during the unit, thereby handing the first in points spot to the evening's winner.

Brock Beeter was first of the Hobby Stocks.

The hometown hero in Jeremy Swanson took home the checkers in the IMCA Street Stocks division. Although spinning out in his heat he battled back to decent placing in the final laps to finish. In the feature, he found himself once again falling to the back of the pack after sliding over the edge. However, a caution worked to his advantage and he held his place for the win.

"I just went in a little too high, it's slick out there and it was too much. Fourtunately, the caution just came out so I lucked out there. This is a new car and we're still trying to work the bugs out of it."

In the Slingshots, young Ryder Raynard took the victory.
