Is their slump simply growing deeper, or is there a spark of hope for the Toronto Blue Jays?
With a record of 2-10, they kicked off a three game series and the week against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday, April 18th, losing the first by a score of 8-7. They managed to pull a 3-0 shutout victory out of the second, and then dropped the series when they lost the third round 4-1.
They then took on the Los Angeles Angels with a marginally improved record of 3-12, and nearly nabbed the four game series. The boys in blue took the first nine innings 8-7, then fell in the next round 5-4. They managed to hold on to the win-loss ratio throughout the rest of the series, tying it at 2 a piece after a 6-2 win and 2-1 loss.
The Jays now sit with a record of 5-14, the worst in their franchise history. However, the last series was their best yet this season. Is this potentially the first signs of life in a struggling baseball club...or just a lucky chance?
Fans will find out as the team heads to St. Louis next to face the Cardinals for three games, with the first on Tuesday, April 25th.
