The 2017 Juvenile Broomball National's wrapped up in Estevan on Friday afternoon.

In the women's gold medal game, the CAJ Centre-du-Quebec defeated the Eastern thunder 1-0 in triple overtime. The game was in a deadlock until Delaine Hester ended it.

The women's host team Odessa Flames finished round robin play with a 2-5 record coming away with the B side bronze medal.

On the men's side the gold medal game needed overtime as well.

The Ottawa Valley Gamblers took a 1-0 lead late into the last frame when the Sting tied things up at 1.

Bradley Nicola was the overtime hero for the Gamblers when he squeaked in a shot to secure their gold medal.

The hometown host Estevan Raiders wrapped up round robin play with a 0-7 record getting defeated in the B side bronze medal game.

 

Co-Chair of the Event Denise Saxon spoke about the Nationals in Estevan.

"Everything was ran great, we had some ups and downs."

"Will we do it again? Probably, Estevan has a great facility and the volunteers were awesome."

Saxon added although it was successful, its a relief to be done.
