A busyand wet night on the track started off the double header weekend at the Estevan Motor Speedway with A and B Modifieds, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks, and special feature race to end the night.

In the A modifieds, Weyburn's Tyler Wagner took the checkered flag just over a second before Estevan's Les McLenehan could get passed him.

In the B Modifieds, Robby Rosselli was able to extend his lead at the top of the league. He managed to pass every car on the track other than the one in second, and wasn't far off from lapping the entire field. It's also his second win at the Speedway in Estevan this year, and his third finish in the top three. Though the track was a little slippery coming into the races, Rosselli says he hasn't changed a thing all year long.

"To be honest with you, I have not changed a thing on this car in the past 19 races that we have been in and that's including heat races to dashes to features, and with that being said we've finished first or second in everything."

In the Hobby Stock feature, we saw a 20 car race slowly widdle down to a 14 car race as caution after caution was issued due to spin outs and contact on track. One particularly bad collision came when a three car pile on turn 4 caused hometown Riley Raynard to veer off course to avoid hitting another car only to hit directly into the retaining wall. After sending the cars around the track once more, Raynard returned only to retire another lap in.

Once the cautions stopped, David Rieks emerged from the dust to take the checkered flag, while the Runge brothers from Lampman were close behing, Leevi in third and Landon in fourth.

For the young bucks, Jesse Gibson took the checkered flag for a victory lap after getting his first win of the year in what was an exciting Slingshots division race. Gibson says the wet conditions on the track may have helped with the come from behind victory.

"There's more cautions, more time to catch up a bit if you're falling behind."

Finally, in the Street Stocks division, the feature race was an entertaining one as Estevan's Gregg Mann made the 20 laps in 16 minutes flat with Kenmarem, North Dakota's own Cody Nelson hot on his trail.

The final race of the night was possibly the most strategic of them all, a 10 car dash race. Every two laps, the person in last would be eliminated until only two racers remained. It all came down to two Estevan locals, Jeremy Swanson and Austin Daae.

Daae tried to take the outside position on Swanson and speed past, but it wasn't enough as Swanson held the inside corner for the win and the crown of "King of the Mud".

The second half of the double header goes Sunday night at 7:30.
