Lessons were learned as the TS&M Bantam Bruins took part in the Grahem Tuer Challenge bantam tournament in Regina. They fell to Interlake in the C pool semifinal.

"We played teams that were all pretty much like ourselves. We had two wins, two losses and a tie, a lot of learning and a lot of things we found that we have to work on," shared Head Coach Blaine Chrest, "It was good for us to get a read on our team and what we need to work on."

"The biggest thing we found is that we've got to learn to play for all 60 minutes in a game, you can't have the highs and the lows, you kind of want to play the same all the way through. We had a few periods where we didn't compete like we can, and anytime you don't compete against teams that are like you the puck ends up in your net."

However, there were also a few positive takeaways for the coach.

"We learned that we are a pretty good hockey team, and that we can compete with some of the top clubs in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. We played two triple A teams from Manitoba and we got a win and a loss against them. We learned that, when we concentrate and work hard, we can compete with anybody."

The Bantam Bruins play against the Wings in Weyburn on Tuesday evening.
