The TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club and it's board of directors announced last week that the club would be relieving general manager Travis Merritt of his duties.

"Just at this time the board felt that Travis Merritt's skill set did not align with the clubs vision as we move forward," explained club president, Jeff Ward.

Merritt replaced former general manager Kyle Mulligan and took over the position at the club in March of this year. Mulligan moved on to become general manager of the Royal Regina Golf Club after spending two years in Estevan.

"One thing throughout this year, we did learn that we need to balance the financial stability of the club with the needs and wants of the course, and our membership knowing that those aren't always mutually exclusive."

Looking ahead, Ward says that the board will explore all options before coming to a final decision on who will replace Merritt.

"The board will be assessing all options on how we will move forward with different kinds of structures. We're making sure we get feedback from some of our members and our management team. We need to ensure that the structure moving forward fosters an environment for us to ensure the best value and service for the members of our club."
