It was a rough affair last night between the Estevan Apex AA Midget Bruins and the Notre Dame Hounds. Combined, there was a total of 21 penalties issued with the only extra found it's way on to the Estevan side of the score sheet.

It didn't take the Bruins long to get the scoring started. Only a minute-sixteen into the game, Tristan Sorenson would get the game's first goal on an unassited play. After the early goal, the play would lock up defensively for the next thirteen minutes before the Bruins would strike again. Dylan Hull would bring the puck down the right side of the ice and slip a wrist shot over the Notre Dame goaltender.

In the second period, the Bruins would extend their lead five minutes in once more. Tayce Miller would score once again while shorthanded after Jared Fornwald blocked a pass and sent it up ice for Miller on the breakaway to make it a three goal lead. The Bruins would then run into some penalty trouble that would keep the puck out of the offensive zone. Zane Winter would face only seven shots in the period where his team was shorthanded, and he stopped every one of them.

In the third period, the Hounds would finally crack Winter's shuout only fourty seven seconds in when Cole Leggat would score what would become the lone positive stat on the scoresheet. He would head to the box twice in the game. From there, the Bruins would get it right back a few minutes later thanks to Adrien Riddell. Although Winter had been solid in net for the Bruins, he did feel the pressure in the final four minutes of the game he'd lose his cool and take a four minute penalty for a shot he gave after for the play.

On the insuing four minute penalty, the Bruins would scoop up control in their own zone and Tanner Stovin would send it down the length of the ice, off the post, and in.

FINAL SCORE: Estevan 5 - 1 Notre Dame                             Series Score: 2 - 1 Notre Dame
