After CLINCHING A DIVISION-TITLE on Friday night, the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins entertained their fans with an even more thrilling finish during Parents' Weekend on Saturday night.

Jason Miller scored at the 2:35 mark of overtime to lift the Bruins past the Notre Dame Hounds 3-2 in front of 1,300 fans at Affinity Place.

Earlier in the week, the Bruins lost 5-1 to Notre Dame in Wilcox. Saturday marked the sixth and final meeting of the regular season between the two teams with the Hounds leading the season series (3-2).

With the standings juggling on a game-by-game basis, Saturday also provided a potential quarterfinal round preview between the 3rd-ranked Bruins and 7th-ranked Hounds.

Jake Fletcher Lays A Hit On Notre Dame's Adam Dawe.

The Bruins would lose their captain just minutes into the game. After his first shift, Lynnden Pastachak skated off the ice in discomfort. Pastachak went out for a second shift but returned to the bench quickly in frustration and went to the dressing room. He would not return in the game.

Notre Dame would open the scoring 6:05 into the game. Off a turnover in the Bruins' zone, Chance Longjohn buries home a rebound to give the Hounds a 1-0 lead.

That would be the score until the beginning of the 2nd period. After Kaelan Holt was high-sticked for a double-minor, the Bruins would capitalize on the powerplay.

Jake Heerspink had the puck at the point and fired a perfect backdoor pass to Matt McNeil. McNeil put the puck into the open net for his team-leading 26th goal of the year to tie the game 1-1.

Colby Brandt Scores While Falling In The 2nd Period.

The Hounds would retake the lead halfway through the game. Another turnover, this one in the neutral zone, sent Colby Brandt in on a breakaway. Brandt was tripped up form behind by a diving Heerspink, but the Hounds forward was still able to get a shot off and beat Bruins' netminder Nathan Alalouf to make it 2-1 Notre Dame.

Shortly thereafter, Holt would be high-sticked once again and that resulted in another double-minor. And once again, the Bruins would make the powerplay count.

Zach Goberis Ties The Game In The 2nd Period.

McNeil kept control of the puck while cutting through the slot. This time, instead of shooting, McNeil found Zach Goberis backdoor for a tap in. Goberis' 12th of the year tied the game at 2-2.

In the third period, both teams would come close to taking the lead with multiple point-blank opportunities. But the Bruins' Alalouf and Hounds' Ben Patt shut the door and kept the score at 2-2 after 60 minutes.

In the extra frame, Miller grabbed the puck in the neutral zone, worked across the slot into a shooting position and sniped his 23rd of the year top shelf past Patt to give Estevan the 3-2 win.

Estevan (33-16-1-1) evens the season series with Notre Dame (23-21-6-1) while ending the Hounds five-game win streak.
