The Professional Golfers' Association of Saskatchewan held their annual awards reception on Tuesday night in Saskatoon, where individuals from around the province were recognized for their hard work and dedication towards the sport.

TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club Head Professional Amanda Minchin was nominated for both Professional of the Year and Junior Promoter of the Year. Although Minchin didn't walk away with any hardware, it's something that shouldn't go unnoticed.

"You're nominated by your peers, and anytime that happens it's obviously very humbling and I feel very proud to be part of the PGA of Saskatchewan."

"Golf professionals wear many hats in our business. We have various tasks that we have to do at our clubs and so I think a lot of it has to do with the success you have at your club and growing the game of golf locally, provincially and even nationally. As well as the services you offer your members and guests along with your overall success as a business."

Minchin won the Junior Promoter award back in 2013 and she continues to put in hard work with a number of juniors from the south east.

"We have a high performance team that we run with all summer and some other kids that work with us play high school golf. They were very successful winning districts and provincials, they did very well and it's good to be part of anything that has to do with the juniors and golf. I think it's a great game for obviously everybody, but kids in particular," Minchin concluded.
