The Pee Wee Estevan Tarpon Energy Storm traveled to Prince Albert over the weekend and ran the table on their way to a gold medal performance.

On Friday night, the Storm opened their schedule with a 9-0 win over the La Ronge Ice Wolves. In game two against the Saskatoon Bobcat Flames, the Storm led 3-0 after the first period thanks to a quick start, and never looked back as they would hold the lead for the win.

Their final round robin game pinned them against the host Prince Albert Sharks, who the Storm would blank 10-0, on their way to a third straight shut-out.

Three commanding wins set the Storm up to play the Prince Albert Oilers in the quarter final after winning their pool, and following a tight first period the Storm dominated the Oilers and won 10-0 for their fourth straight shut-out.

"To say the boys were hungry would be an understatement," explained Head Coach, Lloyd Sehn. "They wanted to make sure they wouldn't come in second place again, everyone played their role and we left no gas in the tank."

The Storm got off to a quick start in their semi-final match up with the Bobcat Flames, scoring on the first shift of the game on a marker from Carter Onrait. Saskatoon would find an answer and strike back to knot the game at one a piece. After trading goals throughout the second, the Storm held a 4-3 lead in the third period before the Flames tied the game once again, this time on a penalty shot.

It was Estevan's Rylen Entz who would score on a breakaway, in what would become the game winning goal. Estevan would add a pair to win 7-4, and set themselves up for a spot in the gold medal final.

For Estevan, this would be their fourth straight appearance in a gold medal game, earning silver in their three previous tournaments. The Storm would dominate the Battleford Barons on their way to a gold medal, in a tournament that saw Estevan win six straight games while shutting out their opponents four times and out-scoring them 46-6.

"We had to play three games on Sunday to get to the final and we were pretty concerned about that, but they knew this was it and there was no second chances. They left it all on the ice and we couldn't be more proud," Sehn concluded.

The Pee Wee Storm get their playoff schedule underway on Tuesday night, starting at 7:30 at the Power Dodge Ice Centre.
