A season of hard work came to fruition on Tuesday night for the Pee Wee Estevan Tower Wolves, as they captured the South East Minor Hockey League championship on home ice.

After picking up a key 5-3 win in game one on the road Sunday in Radville, the Wolves exchanged blows with their opponent in game two, to take a 7-5 win.

"It's kind of been the tale of our year where we've had up's and down's and a bit of a roller coaster," explained Wolves Head Coach, Chuck Lang. "We stumbled out of the gate a bit, but we had such a hard working resilient group with a next man up mentality. We clawed our way back in a couple times in the game and found a way with our relentless forecheck and hard work in the third to put a few in and take the win."

Being able to win a minor hockey championship felt that much sweeter for the Wolves who were able to win on home ice, as Lang said the entire group involved gelled together so well.

"It feels fantastic, the kids were ecstatic and we've had a great group of parents, kids and coaches this year. Everyone just came together really well, I'm just super happy for the kids. It says a lot about our minor hockey system in town and how we're developing players, just happy to be a part of it," Lang said with enthusiasm.
