The Pee Wee Estevan Tower Wolves returned home to the energy city as champions of the pee wee tournament in Carlyle over the weekend.

The young hockey club carried momentum from their great showing at their home tournament a couple weeks back, and took it out on the ice in Carlyle by beating the host team in the 'A' side final, 3-2.

"The boys came out firing on all cylinders this weekend," explained Head Coach, Charles Lang. "The end result was obviously winning a championship and there's nothing sweeter than winning it against the home team in their own barn."

A bit of redemption also took place for the team over the weekend when they beat a familiar opponent who knocked them out of their home tournament.

"At our home tournament, we lost in the semi-finals to the team who ended up winning. We actually ended up playing them this last weekend and beat them, so a bit of retribution."

Now 14-6-1 on the year, the Head Coach spoke about the teams growth, and what he has watched the team accomplish in the first half of the season.

"The kids are all developing as far as their understanding of the game and bringing their compete level to the rink every day. We have a couple tournaments under our belt and the kids have been pretty busy. Any one who has been around our team has seen the kids improve by leaps and bounds from the beginning of the season. Everyone has developed a great understanding of where they need to be and when they need to be there," Lang stated.
