The Estevan Peewee Chargers Minor Football team had a very successful year in 2016.

Head Coach Jason Bresciani was highly pleased with the progress of his players.

"We finished off the season in 3rd place and ended up going to the league championship game, where we lost to Weyburn by 6 points, so it went really well."

He says that one memorable point in the year was when the Chargers kept the Moose Jaw Vikings from scoring for 8 quarters.

"We had a very strong defence. The offence also made a lot of big runs and had a passing game, which is a good highlight for Peewee football."

He notes that the program has seen a lot of improvements, and the team has benefited greatly.

"Ever since we moved over to the Moose Jaw league, the Peewee Chargers have had a winning record. The competitive level has increased, the kids are having fun, and the only team we are losing to is Weyburn."

He also expressed what the most important part of the season was to him.

"The biggest thing with us this year is that we worked together and played as a team."

He adds that going into the new season, the program is looking for more referees, as well as coaches and players.
