It's been a successful playoff run for both the Novice and Peewee Voltz, each returning home with a bronze medal for their efforts.

The Peewee Voltz took on the Swift Current Blue in Moose Jaw and downed them 4-3 for the spot, and Head Coach Trevor McNabb noted that it was a sweet victory.

"I think everybody was pretty excited. The kids came out and played hard, we all knew we could beat the Swift Current team, and other than a couple tight moments as it was tied up there for a bit, we pulled through. Everybody played a really good game."

A strong defense seemed to be the strong point for the Peewees. McNabb said that several kids on the offense have kept it a threat, but it's been those in back that have made great strides in their development.

"They've gotten stronger, gotten better, everybody's doing their part and everybody's understanding their role. If you play a solid defense and prevent their opportunities and chances, we can thrive against all these teams."

Meanwhile, the Novice Voltz were up in Moose Jaw a couple days later to attempt the same feat and pulled it off with a 5-4 win over Swift Current.

"The kids did great, they played their hearts out," said Estevan Lacrosse President Marc Seeman, "Those are good kids. They play hard, so bronze was an excellent award for them. Too bad it wasn't silver or gold, but bronze was a good start."

While the Novice won't be participating in the upcoming provincials to be held July 6-8 in Estevan, the Peewee will certainly be looking to leave their mark on a Saskatchewan-wide scale.
