Although it was not a victory, it was a close finish for the Peewee Tornadoes on Thursday as they took on the Weyburn Beavers. They fell 12-10 in a walk-off home run in the seventh inning.

"We were working through a few different pitchers, just trying to keep everyone fresh for the weekend that we've got the full pitch count for everybody going in. The kids hit the ball well, and defense seemed to work really well for the boys too. We threw out a couple runners from the outfield, one of our catchers made a nice double play on a bunt, caught a popup and got a kid off base. We made a nice play on that first to third steal, we were able to fake out the runner on third and got him thrown out as well," shared Head Coach Ryan Siever.

"The boys played really well, they (Weyburn) just out hit us. One of their players, who'd hit the walk-off home run, he'd hit two home runs earlier in the game too, he just had a really good day at the plate."

The Tornadoes now face two doubleheaders over the weekend. On Saturday they take on the Regina White Sox, and go against Melville on Sunday.
