Just over a month to go before the very best curlers in Canada converge on the Energy City to pit themselves against each other, with the winner coming away with the Canada Cup, and preparations are moving into the next stage.

"We're gearing up for our ice transformation, that'll begin on Monday, December 3rd. It's a 48 hour straight turnaround, it's not just working through the day then we break through the night, it's 48 straight hours," shared Host Committee Vice Chair Helen Fornwald, "We've got 20 ice crew and our ice maker, to make that transformation into, and this time it's five sheets instead of four."

"We were gearing up for 150 volunteers, we were hoping for that, and we exceeded that," added Vice Chair Tyler McMillan, "We're at about 186 volunteers, so we have enough, and every different position and area's going to be covered. They're just in the process of scheduling them. Thanks to Estevan and the surrounding areas, and even a few volunteers traveling in from different areas too. We have ones reaching out from afar and coming down to Affinity and helping us out."

They noted that there's no room left, at all, for any more volunteers. Those still interested in supporting the event are encouraged to buy tickets, sit back and enjoy the competition.

The Canada Cup runs December 5-9.
