The results are in and by all counts, Football Day in Estevan turned out to be a success, despite the blustry, chilly conditions.

"The overall outcome was great. Even though mother nature was against us that day...we had good numbers in the stands. I think we even rivaled the Toronto Argonauts vs. the Riders in that game for attendance," joked Estevan Minor Football President Paul Duncan.

Although the rain, wind and cold certainly were present, he noted that they didn't play as large a factor as one would expect.

"The kids were incredibly resilient. When the lights came on, it was time to go. They were well prepared and played a really hard game."

Wtih the way the second annual event turned out, Duncan added that they will certainly go for a third.

"Maybe I'll see if I can get it a little earlier in September, and not run the risk of having it as cold as it was. From here, I think what we're doing is successful, we'll continue to build off of it with some minor tweaks here there. Hopefully we'll put in a word with mother nature and get it to be warmer next time."
