Both the Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs Senior Girls' and Boys' Volleyball teams came within one game of booking their ticket to provincials, but just couldn't quite get over the hump.

Hosting 5A South Regional's, the girls were swept in straight sets to open the tournament on Friday against Balgonie. Their next game on Friday night would see the girls get their first win over Moose Jaw Central.

The Elecs would lose in straight sets to Swift Current, which would place the girls in playoff spot against Moose Jaw Peacock. After taking the win over Peacock, the Elecs would have shot at moving on to provincials with a win against

Swift Current in the third place game. The girls were swept in straight sets and came that close to getting to provincials.

The Elecs boys also came very close at 5A South Regional's in Swift Current.

In their first match, the boys took down Moose Jaw Central in straight sets and followed that with a loss to the host Swift Current.

During the playoffs, Estevan would take out Moose Jaw Peacock in straight sets. The win pushed the Elecs into the semi-final where they would lose to Weyburn in straight sets.

The loss placed the Elecs in the third place game, where Balgonie would defeat Estevan to capture the third and final spot in next weekends provincials championships.
