Despite not coming away with a championship win, nor even a spot in the finals, the Southeast A's are alright with their performance during AAA Bantam playoffs over the weekend.

Seeded in the A Pool of the tournament, they defeated the Swift Current 57's 6-5 before falling to the Regina White Sox 3-2. This placed them into a sudden death game against the 57's with a spot in the finals on the line on Sunday. The two teams held each other scoreless into the 6th inning, from where Swift Current found five runs to advance.

"We essentially played error free for the most part, and the pitching was great," stated Head Coach Trent Dorrance, "And we faced the top pitchers from all the teams, so we hung in there very well."

Once again, the mental game proved the hinge for the group.

"We worked on attitude quite a bit. We practiced one day with the (Southeast) Twins, and Dylan Lafranz come in and talk to us about 'controlling the controllables, and having a positive attitude. That seemed to really work through the practices the rest of the week, and kind of carried through into the weekend as well," Dorrance said, adding that they'll be rolling into the provincial tournament August 3-5 with a positive outlook.
