The Southeast Midget AAA Twins picked up a big win in Regina Wednesday night, as they beat the Athletics 5-0. The win improved the record for the Twins to 6-8 on the season.

The Twins opened the scoring in the first inning, when Walker Happ, with runners on first and second, hit a double that brought home Jaxon Robertson and Ryan Gaab. Burke Lyons would then bring home Happ with a single of his own, giving the Twins an early 3-0 lead.

In the third inning, Jose Reyes scored Evan McClarty, on a single, with McClarty making the run from second to the plate for the score. The Twins would follow it up with another run in the sixth, as Ryan Gaab brought in Luke Niemegeers.

On the mound, Rhett Nikolejsin was stellar, as he went the distance in the shutout. He faced 29 batters in the game, striking out six of them. The defense behind him was strong as well, as they limited the number of runners in scoring position throughout the game.

The Twins will be back in action next Wednesday when they host the White Sox at Lynn Prime Field in Estevan.
