Steam-Est Industries showed their support for the upcoming SaskTel Tankard when they presented members of the organizing committee a cheque for $1,000.

"We like to be involved in community events as much as we can," shared Keith Cassidy, President at Steam-Est. "This is an event that we thought we would certainly like to stand behind."

"With an event like this, it's a good opportunity to be involved in the community. A good opportunity to support curling and the curling rink and all the people involved."

"It's been nice to see the community has been able to host some pretty big events over the last little while. The Summer Games was something we were pretty involved with as well. Having the Western Canada Cup here as well, it's great to see the Estevan can support these events and it's great for the people in the community to have something to come out and see and get excited about."

He adds that curling is something that nearly every person in the area has a connection to.

"Both my parents were real competitive curlers, I missed out on that, I ended playing hockey but there's a lot of curling background in our family.

The SaskTel Tankard begins on January 31st at Affinity Place.
