For the first time, the ECS Elecs Senior Boys volleyball team headed east to an invitational tournament in Brandon, Manitoba, over the Thanksgiving long weekend.

They finished in the top third of their competition overall, fifth of fifteen teams, and Coach Kevin Perkins noted it as a 'fairly successful outing'.

"We finished second in our pool. We ended up played until almost 10:00 PM Friday night, and ended up being second. We were close to being third but we managed to squeak out in second. We played a lot of three set games, we won a few, we lost a few, but those extra games got us into second. That got us a 9:00 AM start for Saturday, and we did okay. We lost one key match against a Brandon team that we had beaten in the round robin, but it was close, it was another three set loss. That just sent us down to the fifth place game," he shared.

The boys get the Co-op challenge, previously postponed due to weather, rolling in Weyburn on Wednesday, before hosting a home tournament at the ECS on the weekend.
