It's their first curling match of the year, and they're excited to go. Team Williamson curls out of the Estevan Curling Club this season with a new line up.

After narrowly missing a spot in provincials last year, the team disbanded in February. However, it's back with some new faces.

Now composed of Skip Rae Williamson (Regina), Third Alexandra Meyer (Estevan), and front ends Jessica Thompson (Saskatoon) and Leah Moriarty (Estevan), they will play their first spiel as a team together this weekend at the Regina Highland, in the first stop of the Sask Women's Curling Tour event.

"We're going to, hopefully, get some points. The points at the end of the year will go towards us possibly going to provincials. There are other ways to get in but it's always nice to get those points," said Meyer, adding that that reduces their tour stops in additional locations to fight for a spot.

While some of the members have played together at different times, the four haven't thrown the rocks as a group yet.

"It's going to be interesting to get back on the ice together and see the new formula and see how it works out," Meyer expressed, "(We haven't had) a lot of practice, but we have had a lot of meetings...discussing our schedule and trying to find sponsors to help us on our journey for the year. And so far, we're gelling really well, I would say."

The SWCT event in Regina runs September 28th through 30th, with further tour stops to come in October and November.
