The Estevan Mermaids have had a stellar year so far and a couple of big donations by some community members really helped to round out their spring raffle.

Brenda Wakely the communications coordinator with the Estevan Mermaids explains what the club has been up too so far and talks about some of the community organizations that stepped up to help the club.

"We have had a really good season. So far we have competed in two synchro swim meets, we were in Regina for the first one that was back in November. We went up to Saskatoon at the beginning of February we had some really good results there. We had a third place, some forth, fifth and sixth places which are amazing,  were a small club in comparison to the synchro community in Saskatchewan just because of the fact we are way down in the south but having said that we went out and we had really good results."

The Estevan Mermaids is holding a raffle to help support the cost of the organization and there have been a couple of business in the community who have helped step up and support the Mermaids.

"We have been really fortunate to have three big donations to come in for our spring raffle that is our final fundraiser of the year for our club. It caps off everything to help us run the expenses for our club. The first donation was made by the United Mine Workers of America and they generously gave us 1000$ dollars, which is a really great amount.  The second one came in from Robbie and Alicia Duke who own Rad Oilfield services and they gave us 500 dollars. The third one was 250$ donated by David and Lil Wanner, local citizens that love and support our club and all of this leads up to a water show, We draw the raffle that all these companies and citizens donated for at that event."

The Estevan Mermaids Will be holding there Water show on Saturday, April 13th.
