Teams from Estevan Water polo Sharks Bantam and Cadet teams were in Regina this weekend.

The male and female u16 cadet team played on Saturday with the girls' team dressing ten players. They lent two players to the Regina team because they were shorthanded. They ended up winning two games and losing three.

Sunday saw the u14 Bantam teams in the water. The girls' team won two games, lost two and tied one. Tayla Gervais missed the game with an injury.

Bantam boys teams had two Sharks teams at the tournament, the Reef Sharks and Tiger Sharks. The Reef Sharks ended up with two wins, one tie, and one loss. The Tiger Sharks had a record of one win and three losses.

"The Reef Sharks were short handed this weekend," wrote Heather Tober," so they did borrow a player from the Tiger Sharks for each game. In the first game the Reef Sharks faced off against the Regina Submarine’s and after a tough battle settled in a 5-5 tie."

"They then came out with a win in their second game against the Regina Dreadnoughts with a score of 8-1. The boys came out strong and played well as a team with the help of their goalie Noah Mvula and player Jace Carritt finding the back of the net multiple times. They then followed that with a tough loss to the Regina Destroyers in a close 3-4 game but they ended the tournament in a strong game against the Weyburn Hurricanes where the Reef Sharks won 11-1."

"The Tiger Sharks had tougher go this weekend in Regina. They came out with a tie in their first game against the Regina Destroyers with a close score of 4-5. The boys came out strong and played well as a team and they won their second game against the Weyburn Hurricanes 9-1. They played a tough third game against the Regina Submarines and ended in a loss of 5-8. They then played Regina Dreadnoughts and once again they fought hard but couldn’t hold the score and lost 6-5."

The Sharks teams will next head to Saskatoon to compete at the water polo Sask provincial tournament on Dec 8 & 9.
