It's almost one year to the day that the Western Canada Cup took over the city of Estevan.

"The hockey was obviously a big part of my ten days, but the event itself is what's going to leave the memories," said Chris Lewgood, Head Coach and General Manager of the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins.

"All the people who put it together and supported it did such a fantastic job. It left a lasting impression on the city of Estevan."

Some of those lasting impressions include debt that the Bruins were able to pay off to the city.

"A twenty to thirty year debt was wiped clean due to the attendance and success of the tournament."

"The financial support the committee was able to provide to go towards the summer games was tremendous," Lewgood added.

Although the Bruins don't have any formal plans to host the national championship RBC Cup, it's not out of the question.

"I think the city of Estevan proved that we would be a good host for the event."

"The Western Canada Cup served as a pretty good example of what we can do here"

The city of Estevan certainly left it's own mark on the Western Canada Cup.
