Whether it was the rides, the food or the games, it seemed as though the 2017 Estevan Fair had something for everyone.

"It was a very good year actually, one of our best," explains Byron Stepp, with the Estevan Exhibition Association. "We had three great days of weather so that helped us a ton."

He added that over 8700 passed through the gates over the three day event. And there was plenty for all of them to see and do.

"Obviously West Coast Amusements do a great job and their people are very, very good to work with and very polite for the most part. The Calamity Cowgirls on Monday night was a huge draw."

"The food services from the local vendors that were set up out front here, all of the them do a great job and people come just to grab a bite to eat and turn around and leave, sometimes it carries on to the midway or into our beer gardens which was very well received as well this year."

"There was a domestic art show and it's under new management which is still part of the Estevan Exhibition Association but there's a new person spearheading it. We had things like the 3D printer this year from the library and they did a display on that. There were lots of classes that we offered for people to sit in on. And some beautiful, beautiful entries into the art show itself."

Even the weather cooperated for the most part.

"The weather was fantastic. A little bit of a wind scare on Wednesday but the winds tapered off and the crowds came again so Wednesday was our slower day. But we did make efforts to keep the dust down and by about 7:30 or 8:00, the wind had died off and everyone was having a good ol' time again."

He adds that they are hoping to make next year's fair even bigger and better.

"Keep your eyes and ears open for next year because subject to board decision, there's some big things coming for next year. We're trying to add things to bring more people through the gates and once we get more people through the gates, we're going to get more rides and a bigger midway which will just be more fun for everyone."

"We want to grow this thing, we want this fair to stay for our kids and even their kids. We've been having the fair for 25 years now and we're looking forward to the next 20."
