A great family event was held at the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum on Saturday afternoon with a spooky theme.

"We had our Halloween Haunt, which is basically a family event that's based on Halloween," explained Amber Andersen, the Director and Curator for the gallery. "We’re really happy, this year we have a couple of different mini artist residencies happening; an indigenous one and a newcomer one. so you can come in and actually make a craft with artists."

The Estevan Humane Society and Souris Valley Museum also came out to support the event with different crafts for the children. The event also featured a photo booth put on by Durr Photography; the photos from the booth will be uploaded to the Art Gallery's website for their costume contest. There was also popcorn donated by the Orpheum Theatre, which went great with the Halloween movie they had playing at the event.

"The turnout was quite amazing; within an hour, we had over 200 people come through. The money that people pay to get in the door is going back into our programs, such as our family programs, different camps, and different classes."

She adds that she is thankful to all who helped make the day a success as well as the patrons who came out to make the event a great success.
