Thanks to the generosity of the residents of Estevan during the latest Canada Post food drive held on Saturday, the Salvation Army food bank is set to go as the summer months approach.

"We received about 2000 pounds, which is really great," expressed Major Heather Harbin with the Salvation Army, adding that the amount was a little lower than the year previous, but many people bring their donations in later as well.

"It's a great time to fill our shelves up, or almost fill our shelves, because in the summer people go away, it's that time of year. This will take us through to the fall, so it's a great time for that to happen."

The next food drive for the bank will take place in the fall, before ramping for Christmas.
