Over the weekend the Kinsmen and Kinettes held there 43rd annual TeleMiracle in Saskatoon and thanks to all the volunteers, performers and patrons it was a resounding success. We talked with Susan Colbow with Telemiracle to find out some of the details about the event and the weekend itself.

"The weekend went great!. for those who don't know Telemiracle is a 20-hour telethon that's put on once a year by the kinsmen and Kinnets in Saskatchewan. We raise funds for people in need of medical equipment, travel, foundational equipment so its for those who are needing extra funds to go get procedures done and any type of medical equipment that is needed, so once a year we do that and this year we had Telemiracle 43 and we had it in Saskatoon and it was amazing yet again."

There was a ton of great acts that set the stage on the weekend but one that really stood out to Susan was particularly powerful.

"We had some extra special Saskatchewan talent, the thing i remember the most was a girl who did a dance for her billet brother who was killed in the Humboldt bus crash and she did a dance and remembered him, had his jersey there, yeah it was a very emotional part of the weekend, there was a lot more but that is one that i think of the most."

And of course, the whole event would not be possible without the magnitude of volunteers that donate there time to help make the event something special. Colbow

"Behind the scenes, we got a lot of volunteers that nobody sees. Its just a different experience when you go to TeleMiracle because everyone sees the show happening and they watch it on tv but they don't realize how much work goes on behind the scenes, we've got up to 500 or more volunteers between all the clubs in Saskatchewan, its an experience to go and take a tour and see what goes on behind the scenes, its just a bustling weekend for 20 hours and its great."

With this years TeleMiracle behind them they are looking forward to planning TeleMiracle 44 but they will have a tough goal to meet as this years TeleMiracle raised a grand total of 5,619,214 dollars.

"It was a huge number and an awesome year for the Telemiracle 43 committee and for the people of Saskatchewan."
