There could be some traffic slowdowns on Highway 13 today, and tomorrow, as a large piece of equipment for the Chinook Power Station near Swift Current is on the move.

The equipment, which is being hauled by Richardson Transport, is leaving Carlyle today and heading east on Highway 13. The goal is to reach the junction of Highways 13 and 6 by 3:30 p.m. today.

During the trip, the transport will be travelling at roughly 40 kilometres an hour. It is planned for the transport to pull over every ten kilometres to allow for passing.

The move is expected to take four days in total. Tomorrow, it will go from Highways 6 and 13 to Lafleche. Wednesday will see the transport go from Lafleche to Highway 4, with the final leg being completed on Thursday.
