The Grand Opening of the Boundary Dam Life Jacket Loner Station on the beach was yesterday. The opening consisted of a presentation, by Courtney Domoney with the Lifesaving Society, on water safety and how to properly choose and wear a life jacket. The Presentation was packed with a lot of information for all ages and was also made fun for the children who were in attendance.

Educational Games that helped teach the children about water safety was a huge hit. One of the games they played was a fishing game where the children had to put on a lifejacket in order to get a chance to cast a small fishing rod, in hopes to get a prize. the children enjoyed finding the correct size of a life jacket and receiving prizes like bubbles, stickers or water toys.

The Estevan Fire Rescue and Cst. Classen from Estevan RCMP also made an appearance and explained to everyone what their jobs consist of when there is a call for an emergency on in the water any time of the year. When all the presentations where complete everyone was invited to have some cake to help celebrate the opening. Woodlawn Regional Park had also provided water bottles to everyone in attendance to help keep everyone hydrated on the hot day of fun.
