It was a day of fun Saturday, as the Bright Eyes Dog Rescue held their Celebration of a B.E.D.R. Life adoption drive. The event, held at the Rodeo Dawg, had vendors selling their products, free cupcakes to help with the celebration, a bunch of games, a bouncy castle for the kids, as well as an appearance from both the Estevan Fire and Rescue and the Estevan Police Service. There also was great food, including taco in a bag by the Kinnette Club.

"We had a wonderful turnout, we had many wonderful canines come and visit the puppies," shared Sherry Lukye-Horrocks, event organizer for Bright Eyes Dog Rescue. "We’ve had many people in as well as many kids come out and join us."

The funds raised from the event are going to help support the dogs that are rescued in the organization, as the organization is 100% volunteer-based. Lukye-Horrocks notes, "We always see interest in adoption when people come to these organized events, and we’re hopeful there is someone who has found some love for one of these puppies, as well as Polo, one of the dogs that came down from Regina to celebrate."

"If someone is interested in adopting a dog, they can go onto the Bright Eyes Dog Rescue website and fill out an application online," explained Theresa Valentine with bright eyes rescue. "They can also see a list of the dogs and puppies looking for their forever homes."
