It's been up and at 'em early for City crews on Thursday. Moderate rain turned to snow thanks to plunging temperatures, turning the streets of Estevan into skating rinks.

"Early this morning, we dispatched the salt trucks and they have been out," stated Roads and Drainage Manager Norm Mack, "But the roads are very slick, it's not only intersections, it's the highways, roadways, streets...all terrible. We're going to keep applying salt and sand."

He added that, with the given conditions, they remind motorists to slow down in their driving.
