A hit and run topped the list of incidents that the Estevan Police Service dealt with over the nightshift Thursday, along with disturbances and alarms.

It occurred in the southeast portion of the city, resulting in an 18 year old Estevan male being charged with failing to report property damage, and driving at a speed that's greater than reasonable or safe.

"We had a report that he was driving recklessly, proceeded around a corner, and basically losing control and striking a vehicle," explained Constable Don DeChief.

Officers then responded to an establishment in the central part of town, to the report that a male was refusing to take his leave of the place.

"When members got there, they arrested him, and actually brought him back and had him lodged in cells until sober. He was intoxicated in a public place. It's still under investigation too, there might be more charges pending."

Police then came upon two people that appeared to be in a fight, sitting in a vehicle in a parking lot.

"They were arguing, but further investigation actually led to the driver of the vehicle charged with driving while suspended. Because of that, his vehicle was towed. The argument ended up being resolved without further incident after that, and they were dropped off at a local hotel," related DeChief.
