The Ministry of Justice has introduced a new pilot program which will assist families with child support orders to maintain a fair level of support for their child. The program will recalculate child support based on information reported on the most recent income tax returns.

"The government understand the issue of updating child support payments can create unnecessary stress for parents, no matter what side of the equation they're on," said Noel Busse is acting Director of Communication for Integrated Justice Services. "The goal of this pilot is to take the strain out of that process while also ensuring that the payments are accurate for both parents.

The new benefits of the program will be a faster, no cost recalculating option and a less confrontational alternative for parents to update child support payments.
