The once staple piece of Estevan skyline is officially no more. The demolition machines have done their work, and the tear down and clean up of the Civic Auditorium is complete.

The question now arises as to the new purpose of the space. City Parks and Facilities Manager Rod March said that will be a City Council decision.

"Right now it's still fully fenced and that's intentional, just to allow the transition areas to dry up a bit so we can go in there and grade it. Then we'll be putting some security fence up in time for the Fair, just to make sure everything is okay there."

As of right now, the main idea for the space is to be used for a parking area, though final purpose will be determined later.
