The southeast woke up to more snow this morning.

More snow is expected to fall next week after the long weekend. Environment Canada's Terri Lang said a Colorado low could sweep through the region.

"They combine a lot of the moisture that comes up from the south, like, they really do suck in the Gulf of Mexico moisture that comes through but it also sucks in the really cold air from the north," explained Lang.

Lang said Environment Canada's long-range forecast was predicting a warm and dry fall.

"I don't think Mother Nature got the memo on that one."

The average high for this time of year is 15 degrees. On this day in 2000 it was -10.3 degrees and in 2011 it was 27.2 degrees.

The long weekend forecast is calling for a mix of sun and cloud and an average daily high of 6 degrees. See the full forecast HERE.
