Monday saw a return to winter-like conditions when snow blanketed the Southeast corner of Saskatchewan. While the snow is likely not staying for long, Regional Meteorologist, Terri Laing warns not to expect summer anytime soon.

"We're expecting a cool couple days as a big arctic high pressure system settles over the region." she adds, "By mid-week, we're seeing more of a westerly flow setting in. With that, it's going to start warming temperatures up and towards the weekend it's looking like sunny skies and temperatures getting towards the ten degree mark"

She adds that this week, temperatures will be below normal for this time of year.

"Normal temperatures are a high of 15 and low of plus one so really a cool pattern for this time of year."

She also reminds drivers that this time of year is especially hazardous for driving.

"When you get into the spring time, and we go through long periods of time without seeing any snow, or freezing rain, we start to forget. So we always remind people to always check the highway hotline to where they are going to. Where you are might not be too bad but where you are going might be. And always check the forecast so you know if inclement weather is expected. We always encourage people to be prepared when they hit the road."
