Canines in all sorts of shapes, sizes, colors and personalities gathered together with their owners at the Rotary Park on Sunday afternoon.

The 6th annual Dr. Howard Memorial Dog Jog took place, raising funds for the Estevan Humane Society.

"It's in honor of Dr. Howard, who worked in the Estevan area as a vet for 23 years and was a founding member of the Society as well," explained Kendelle Lesuik with the Society.

"We do it to raise awareness and funds for the shelter."

Participants had the option of an 800 meter trek or a 3 kilometer hike. They could also raise pledges for the jog. There was an obstacle course, bouncy houses, a BBQ and ice cream, in addition to a professional photographer who could take photos of the pets and their owners together.

Some dogs had a go at the obstacle course set up. They could dodge pylons, roll over, chase their tail, duck through hoops, and let their owner balance a treat on a spoon.

"The pledges are really important, as that's where the majority of the donations come from. These all go to the general operations of the shelter, such as vaccinations, spaying, neutering and the general care of the animals," noted Lesuik.

She concluded by adding that the Society's birthday bash will take place on June 17th, with local businesses showing support by selling cupcakes leading up to the event.

Mocha and Latte were among the canines at the event.

Harley was excited to be in attendance at the Dog Jog.
